In the final (?) edition of our three-part Summer of Subs miniseries, I joinedthe panel on The Incomparable to discuss the three-and-a-half-hour epic submarinefilm, Das Boot. Somehow, despite having heard of it for as long as I canremember, I had never seen it.
I won’t spoil the episode, but the opinions amongst the panel varied widely. Ican say with confidence that I was surprised by my own reaction to the film.
Mercifully, the episode lasts quite a bit less than the runtime of the film, despiteus having more to discuss than I initially expected.
