Addressing the growing demand for residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) scale PV + storage applications in Europe, Growatt showcased its broad product portfolio at the recently held Intersolar Europe 2025.
To explore the company’s latest offerings, the TaiyangNews team visited its booth and conducted a brief one-on-one video interview. During the discussion, Robert van Keulen, the company’s Product Marketing Manager, provided insights into the newly launched NEXA 2000 all-in-one balcony solar storage system and the C&I-scale WIT 29.9–50K-XHU hybrid inverter, paired with the AXE 50.0/60.0H-1HT-E1 series battery bank.
Balcony Solar Storage System
The NEXA 2000 all-in-one balcony solar storage system, equipped with 4 MPPT channels connected to a single PV string, can accommodate a PV input capacity of up to 2,600 W with a maximum input current of 20 A. In addition to PV integration, the system can be paired with a battery bank rated at 2,048 Wh, expandable up to 8,192 Wh by parallelly connecting up to 4 units. In on-grid mode, it can deliver a 1-phase output power and current of up to 800 W and 3.5A, respectively.
Thanks to its compatibility with intelligent energy monitoring solutions such as Shelly meters, Shunt meters, and the everHome Ecotracker P1 (used with smart meters from grid operators), the system can monitor real-time household electricity consumption and dynamically store surplus PV energy. This stored energy can then be used when needed, thereby maximizing solar self-consumption and reducing reliance on the grid, explained Keulen.
In the event of a grid outage, the system’s off-grid mode can deliver up to 800 W of AC power and an output current of 3.5 A at 230 V, for a duration determined by the battery bank's capacity.
Its compact dimensions (406 × 255 × 290 mm) and vertically stackable battery design make it ideal for residential balcony installations in limited spaces. According to Keulen, the system can also function in an AC-coupled configuration, allowing homeowners to retrofit battery storage to their existing PV systems.
Growatt offers a 10-year warranty for this product. Currently available in Germany, the solution will soon be rolled out in additional European markets, including the Netherlands.
C&I Hybrid Storage
Complementing its residential storage solutions, Growatt introduced its C&I scale WIT 29.9–50K-XHU 3-phase hybrid inverter, along with the AXE 50.0/60.0H-1HT-E1 battery series, at the show.
The WIT 29.9–50K-XHU hybrid inverter features 4 MPPT channels, each with a voltage range of 180 V to 1,000 V and a maximum current capacity of 40 A. Each MPPT can accommodate 2 PV strings, allowing the system to integrate up to 100 kW of PV capacity. Under normal grid-connected conditions, the inverter can deliver up to 50 kW of power and 83.3 A of load current for 3-phase C&I applications.
On the storage side, the inverter is equipped with 3 battery ports, supporting battery banks with a voltage range between 200 V and 900 V, and a combined charge/discharge current of up to 165 A (55 A × 3), according to the company’s datasheet. To align with this configuration, Growatt showcased its AXE 50.0/60.0H-1HT-E1 battery sets, offering storage capacities of 50 kWh and 60 kWh, respectively, and full compatibility with the inverter.
In the event of a grid failure, the system switches to backup mode in less than 10 ms and can deliver continuous backup power of up to 50 kW, with a corresponding current of 113.6 A. Notably, the system can handle up to 150% overload for 10 seconds, enabling it to support high starting currents for critical C&I loads.
