Today, we released our fiscal 2023 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report to share the progress we’ve made in the last year. Below are some highlights of what we at Palo Alto Networks are doing:
Taking a Data-Driven Approach to Climate Action
- Science-based targets (SBTs) were validated by the globally recognized Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), aligned to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) guidance.Partnered with our local utility to procure 100% renewable electricity to power our Santa Clara, CA headquarters.Made the 2022 CDP A-List and we were recognized as a CDP 2022 Supplier Engagement Leader for our efforts to engage suppliers on environmental sustainability.
Investing in Our Global Workforce and Communities — Putting People First
- Introduced Global Hiring Committees with a focus on elevating hiring standards and ensuring the recruitment of diverse talent. The committee creates quality and equity throughout the hiring process.Took California’s Equal Pay Pledge to reduce unconscious bias and structural barriers, promoting best practices aimed at closing the pay gap and promoting fundamental equity for employees.Engaged 2,400+ academic institutions and nonprofits through our Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy program to prepare young professionals for careers in cybersecurity.
Operating with Integrity — Commitment at the Highest Levels
- 50% of the company’s board directors are diverse, based on directors’ gender, race, ethnicity or nationality.80% of the company’s board directors are independent.Launched a new “Ethics and Compliance” section on our public website to increase the visibility of our ethics and compliance policies, including our Ethics Helpline and expectations around integrity in how we do business around the globe.
