700 MW order for RenewSys: Indian vertically integrated solar PV manufacturer RenewSys India has secured an order for the supply of 700 MW of high-performance POE encapsulants from local EPC solutions provider Kosol Energie. RenewSys will complete the delivery of its encapsulants by December 2025. Kosol Energie Chairman and Managing Director Kalpesh Kalthia said, “This collaboration enables us to deliver even more efficient, long-lasting solar solutions to our customers, while supporting India’s clean energy ambitions.” By FY26-27, RenewSys aims to expand its encapsulant production capacity to 30 GW, backsheets to 4 GW, and high-efficiency solar cells to 4.5 GW.
REC backs another FDRE project: Indian renewable energy company ACME Solar Holding Limited has announced that its subsidiary ACME Hybrid Urja Private Limited has secured a long-term project financing worth INR 31.84 billion ($36.2 million) from REC Limited. It will deploy the proceeds for the development and construction of a 280 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project (FDRE), contracted with NHPC for INR 4.64/kWh. It will comprise solar PV with battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity. REC will be the sole lender for this project, having provided financing for 18 years. REC has already financed 2 FDRE projects for ACME with a combined 570 MW capacity, including 320 MW in Rajasthan (see India Solar PV News Snippets: Japan’s Chubu Electric Now OMC Power’s Largest Shareholder & More).
Telangana’s RE potential: NTPC has reportedly expressed interest in investing INR 800 billion ($9 billion) in solar and wind power projects in Telangana. It will also comprise floating solar power plants that the state utility estimates to hold 6.7 GW potential in the state, according to NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh, who paid a courtesy call on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently. The Chief Minister, in turn, promised full cooperation to NTPC in facilitating and implementing renewable energy projects in the state. Telangana targets to achieve 26.37 GW of solar, 8.2 GW of distributed renewable energy, and 4.5 GW of wind energy capacity by FY35, under its Clean & Green Energy Policy, 2025.
Odisha’s solar capacity expands to over 700 MW: The state of Odisha has achieved a cumulative installed solar energy capacity of 706.34 MW as of June 30, 2025, with another 486.66 MW under implementation. Some of these have encountered delays due to challenges in obtaining approvals for tree felling, vegetation clearance, and issues related to land acquisition, shared Union Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy and Power Shripad Yesso Naik in the Lower House of Parliament, or Rajya Sabha, recently.
