NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of India’s state-owned utility NTPC Limited, has launched procurement calls for 2.5 GW of solar PV modules for its various projects in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. 

It requires 1.5 GW of solar modules for projects to be installed at the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) Solar Park in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. NGEL had previously launched a balance of system (BOS) tender for 1.5 GW grid-connected solar PV projects at the same park in March 2025.  

The call was launched on August 3, 2025, with the last date to submit bids being August 19, 2025. 

A separate call from NGEL seeks solar modules for 1 GW of projects in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot locations in Uttar Pradesh. Modules are sought for 2x435 MW DC capacity at Lalitpur-1 and -2 projects. The remaining 580 MW is allocated for the Chitrakoot-1 project, together accounting for 1.45 GW DC. NGEL requires crystalline bifacial solar modules with a minimum 570 W power output. 

All the modules sought need to be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I. 

NGEL issued the call for this tender on July 31, 2025, and will accept bids in response till August 19, 2025. 

Recently, the Indian Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved an enhanced investment limit for NTPC to help it achieve 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.
