Haier’s smart energy solutions for zero-carbon industrial parks
Chinese home appliance giant Haier’s 2 manufacturing parks in Qingdao, Shandong Province, have been awarded the first batch of Zero-Carbon Park certifications by the China Quality Certification Center (CQC). Haier New Energy, a subsidiary of Haier, supplied its smart energy solutions for these projects.
One of the projects, the COSMOPlat Industrial Internet Ecopark, has deployed an integrated solar solution consisting of rooftop PV, solar carports, and BIPV curtain walls. With an annual electricity generation of over 50 million kWh, the system is said to meet 35% of the park’s power demand.
The other project, the Sino-German Industrial Park, has built on its existing green and low-carbon infrastructure by integrating an intelligent platform that enables full-process visualization of energy flows and carbon emissions. The park is reported to have achieved an integrated energy utilization efficiency of over 80%, with annual carbon emission reductions of up to 32,000 tons.
In March, Haier New Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Huasun Energy to collaborate on ground-mounted solar PV bases, C&I PV projects, and residential PV projects (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
