bilateral trade and economic cooperation between China and Australia has achieved fruitful results in the 10 years since the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) entered into force. Both sides recognized the important role of the agreement in promoting the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.

The two countries agreed to uphold open cooperation and firmly defend multilateralism and free trade. They will take the 10th anniversary of the ChAFTA's entry into force as an opportunity to deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation and tap the potential of the agreement.

The meeting heard reports from committees on goods trade, services trade, and intellectual property. It reviewed the implementation of the agreement in various fields since its entry into force and discussed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on the implementation and review of the ChAFTA.

Both sides agreed to advance the review process to identify areas for further improvement or expansion and made work arrangements. They also exchanged views on their respective trade and investment concerns.
