TOPCon has clearly established itself as the mainstream technology for the last two or three years and will continue its dominance in the next five years. According to authoritative third-party data from InfoLink and TrendForce, TOPCon's market share has reached 70%. InfoLink forecasts that by 2028, the market share of TOPCon technology will rise to 75%. TOPCon's excellent low irradiance performance and high bifacial rate provide significant advantages in 90% of global application scenarios, making it the preferred choice for end-users in over 80% of bifacial applications.  

But in the non-bifacial applications, it used to be described as relatively low power on the front side due to sacrificing space for the busbar. However, that perception is now changing with the arrival of JinkoSolar‘s Tiger Neo 3.0, now let’s take a fresh look at this latest star model. 

Neo 3.0 features a host of power and performance tweaks for DG and utility customers, more power of 650-670Wp on par with the most BC products, 85%-90% bifacility, 10-15% higher than its BC counterparts. Put aside the born advantage of generation capability of TOPCon versus BC kWh/kW, 10-15% bifacility implies that you can get more power in watts free of charge, because you only need to pay for front-side rated power. In its latest iterations, Tiger Neo 3.0 hits its stride to enhance power beyond 650Wp while further optimising other features, making it an all-around top performer and a versatile model fitting all scenarios. 

Recently, empirical results from the TOPCon and XBC solar technologies under a variety of geographical and lighting conditions across the world, which were carried out by manufacturers, third-party testing institutions, and end users, have been released. All the data indicate that TOPCon modules achieve an average power generation gain of 2-3% per watt over XBC modules, with the highest monthly relative gain reaching 7.4% in Kagoshima, Japan, where it features low irradiance. This robust performance underscores the exceptional power generation capabilities and customer value of TOPCon technology.  

The latest iteration of TOPCon hits a big stride to catch up in terms of front-side power and enlarges the advantage of bifaciality over XBC. According to the company, this product is open for pre-order from now on.
