JinkoSolar has successfully supplied and delivered 14.57MW of its Tiger Neo modules for the recently commissioned rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system at Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s East London manufacturing facility. This project, installed by BrightBlack Energy and facilitated through distribution partner Menlo Electric South Africa, marks a significant advancement in the region’s industrial sustainability and clean energy transition, standing as the largest rooftop solar installation in the country.
JinkoSolar kicks off its TOPCon range, Tiger Neo 1.0 and Tiger Neo 2.0, since 2023, which are the first on the ladder when they brought the industry to 570-600Wp and 610-640Wp respectively. Obviously, so far, Tiger Neo has become the best-selling model ever in the industry with over 150GW of delivery within two years, more than all its previous models shipped combined. Particularly, Tiger Neo 2.0 is widely considered the hottest commodity for both the utility and DG market, which offers the most performance for the money, delivering 630-645 Wp power, plus 80% bifacility, and backed by a much more track record of 100GW shipment so far.
Now, the upcoming Tiger Neo 3.0 will take the torch from its previous generation. Tiger Neo 3.0 is the absolute top, from a pure performance standpoint, with its mix of front-side power, efficiency, rear-side bifaciality, temp coefficient, low light performance, etc. It will be priced appallingly at launch because supply and demand seem so unevenly balanced, and then there's the considerable flux of poly silicone-related price hikes, too.
In conclusion, Tiger Neo 2.0 is likely to hang around for at least one year because it is more affordable. Until the newer Tiger Neo 3.0 takes the torch from it.
