Canadian Solar, one of the oldest brands in PV modules that later expanded into the energy storage solution vertical, showcased its latest PV module along with utility and C&I scale central and hybrid inverters at its booth at SNEC 2025.
PV Module
According to the company, among the various modules on display, Canadian Solar’s n-type 182 Pro module attracted significant attention from visitors. This bifacial module delivers a power output of up to 670 W and a maximum efficiency of 24.8%. With a bifaciality of up to 90%, the module is well-suited for residential, commercial & industrial (C&I), and utility-scale ground-mounted power plant applications.
ESS Solution
Canadian Solar also showcased a miniature model of its latest SolBank 3.0 Plus series utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS).
According to the company, this new containerized solution features high-density, long-lifetime LFP cells integrated with active balancing battery management system (BMS) technology, offering a total storage capacity of up to 5.016 MWh. The modular system adopts a 12-rack configuration (12P416S), with each rack housing 4 battery packs (1P416S). Each pack contains 104 battery cells in a 1P104S layout.
In terms of performance, the system supports DC charge and discharge rates of 1.2 MW and 2.4 MW, corresponding to C-rates of 0.5P and 0.25P, enabling energy durations of 2 and 4 hours, respectively. The company says the battery is designed to exhibit near-zero degradation for the first 4 years and can endure up to 12,000 cycles, with a round-trip efficiency of 95%. It comes with a 25-year service life warranty.
To improve energy efficiency, the system incorporates intelligent liquid cooling, which reduces auxiliary power consumption by up to 30% and keeps noise levels under 75 dB. In terms of safety, the SolBank 3.0 Plus boasts advanced features such as fire detection and alarms, explosion prevention, uninterrupted power reserve, emergency START/STOP functions, and an optional fire suppression system. It is compatible with multiple power conversion system (PCS) topologies and supports a broad range of PV + BESS utility-scale applications, as outlined in the company’s datasheet.
Hybrid Inverter
In addition to utility-scale ESS offerings, Canadian Solar also presented its CSI 15–25kW, CSI 40–60kW, CSI 100/120kW, and CSI 250/350kW hybrid inverter series at the exhibition.
Of particular note was the company’s 350 kW string inverter, rated for a 1,500 V system voltage and capable of handling a 20 A string input current. This model boasts a maximum conversion efficiency of 99.01%.
