The key thing is to not compare or confuse 2000 Second Life with Metaverse. The tech vendors now and the tech in general, is way more powerful than anytime in history. Go back a few decades if someone had told that people will post what they ate, where they went, what soap they use etc online and others will see and comment on it, we would have considered that person a lunatic. But now social media is common. It does serve frivolous purposes but at the same time has meaningful use cases as well. Metaverse will be very same, lots of junk and crap, but something meaningful as well. The most important aspect is the tech vendors backing it are consumer-centric and know a thing or two about supplying stuff to create demand. Each of them may define it differently based on their view of the market, but eventually it will become reality sooner than later.
