PID-p (Potential Induced Degradation - Polarization) is a major challenge in the photovoltaic industry. This phenomenon occurs when the electric field generated by system voltage causes charge accumulation in the passivation layer of silicon solar cells, leading to power degradation. Compared to traditional PID-s (Potential Induced Shunting), PID-p progresses faster but allows performance recovery through light exposure—particularly ultraviolet radiation.
