Turkey’s Ministry of Trade has initiated anti-dumping investigation against Chinese imports of junction boxes for solar panels, and aluminum frames for PV panels in response to request from domestic manufacturers.
As per Communiqué No. 2025/8 published into the official gazette, the request for investigation into Chinese imports of junction boxes into Turkey came from local producers Ekinler Endüstri A.Ş. and Hatko Teknik Donanımlar Mümessillik ve Ticaret A.Ş..
Damage claim was examined for the period from January 1, 2022 to December 30, 2024 showed that the unit price of imports originating from China broke the domestic unit sales price of the domestic products in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and suppressed it in 2023 and 2024.
“As a result of the investigation, it was determined that there was sufficient information, documents and evidence to initiate an anti-dumping investigation, and with the decision of the Unfair Competition Assessment Board in Imports, it was decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation for the product in question originating from the PRC within the framework of Article 20 of the Regulation,” stated the ministry.
For aluminum frames for solar panels, the investigation was initiated within the framework of Communiqué No. 2025/10 at the behest of local manufacturers Arslan Alüminyum A.Ş., Lazer Solar Enerji Alüminyum Sistemleri A.Ş. and Pantech Alüminyum A.Ş.. They presented evidence of deterioration in the basic economic indicators of domestic production of the said product.
The investigation period for damage claim from Chinese imports of the aluminum frames is January 1, 2022 to September 30, 2024.
According to the ministry, the investigations are aimed at strongly protecting the domestic producers against unfair competition, and to prevent unfair trade and damage caused by dumped imports.
It stated, “The Ministry of Commerce continues to stand by domestic and national production against unfair practices and unfair competition and to effectively regulate import policies in line with employment targets.”
Previously in March 2024, Turkey had placed anti-dumping duties on solar panel imports from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Croatia, and Jordan, subjecting these to a fee of $25/sq. mtr., having applied the same measure to imports of Chinese solar panels, according to state-run news agency Anadolu Agency.
