In the municipality of Socha, in the Colombian department of Boyacá, now benefits from a cleaner and more efficient energy solution through the Minercondor project—a photovoltaic plant equipped with 480 monofacial ASTRO N5 550W modules supplied by Astronergy in partnership with the distributor Solares y Suministros. With an installed capacity of 264kW, the plant marks a significant step forward in bringing sustainable technology into the mining sector.
“Projects like this one, in collaboration with Solares y Suministros, demonstrate how solar energy can be a powerful ally to industry—even in traditionally high-consumption sectors. The system is expected to generate approximately 337,260 kWh annually, reducing the unit’s conventional energy demand by 25% and preventing an estimated 135.29 tons of CO₂ emissions per year—equivalent to preserving around 811 trees. The solution delivers measurable environmental returns while ensuring operational efficiency in one of the regions with the highest solar irradiation in the country.

The ASTRO N5 series modules, known for their reliability and strong performance in diverse climate conditions, incorporate n-type TOPCon technology, which enhances conversion efficiency and ensures higher energy yield throughout the system’s lifecycle.
