Jim Rowan
Head of AI, Deloitte

As a Principal and Head of the AI Practice at Deloitte US, Jim Rowan collaborates with external technology firms, clients, and Deloitte’s business leaders to help clients achieve their AI ambitions. His experience spans the life sciences, health care, and telecommunications industries, with a strong focus on applying analytics, planning, forecasting, and digital transformation to enhance finance functions. Beyond Jim’s client work, he’s held several leadership roles at Deloitte, including National Managing Partner for Strategy and Analytics, AI and Data Operations (AI&DO) Offering Leader, and Talent and Inclusion Leader for AI & Data. Gabriele Ricci, Chief Data & Technology Officer, Takeda

Gabriele Ricci is the chief data and technology officer of Takeda. He was appointed to this role in February 2022 and leads the transformation of Takeda’s Data, Digital and Technology function.

Gabriele joined Takeda in 2019 as head of Plasma-Derived Therapies IT, during which he drove initiatives to meet the large and growing demand for plasma-derived products, with highly specialized services that require strategic capacity, innovative business models, dedicated R&D and agile supply allocation on a global scale. Prior to joining Takeda, Gabriele served as head of Digital Health and Emerging Technology at Shire, where he leveraged new and emerging technologies to optimize internal operations and deliver differentiated patient and customer experiences.

Gabriele has also served as Shire’s head of Technical Operations IT and held leadership positions at Novartis, Johnson & Johnson and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Gabriele brings more than 18 years of information technology and engineering expertise in the life sciences industry and sits on several advisory boards for non-profit organizations focused on digital, life sciences and manufacturing.

Gabriele holds an MBA from the MIB Trieste School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

Elizabeth Bramson, CEO and Publisher, MIT Technology Review

Elizabeth Bramson is the CEO and publisher of MIT Technology Review, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s independent media company.

Since Elizabeth took the helm of MIT Technology Review in mid-2017, the business has undergone a massive transformation from its previous position as a respected but niche print magazine to a widely read, multi-platform media brand with a global audience and a sustainable business. Under her leadership, MIT Technology Review has been lauded for its editorial authority, its best-in-class events, and its novel use of independent, original research to support both advertisers and readers.

Elizabeth has a 20-year background in building and running teams at world-leading media companies. She maintains a keen focus on new ways to commercialize media content to appeal to discerning, demanding consumers as well as B2B audiences.

Prior to joining MIT Technology Review, Elizabeth held a senior executive role at The Economist Group, where her leadership stretched across business lines and included mergers and acquisitions; editorial and product creation and modernization; sales; marketing; and events. Earlier in her career, she worked as a consultant advising technology firms on market entry and international expansion.

Elizabeth holds an executive MBA from the London Business School, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College.
