The TaiyangNews team stopped by AIKO’s booth at Intersolar Europe this year, an event they have attended for several consecutive years. During their visit, the latest Neostar 3P+54 AIKO-A485-MCE54Dw dual-glass module series captured their attention. The product’s key features can be assessed across three primary metrics: performance, application, and safety.
Performance
Powered by AIKO’s patented all-back-contact (ABC) cell technology, this module, featuring 108 half-cut cells, delivers a maximum power output of up to 485 W and an efficiency of 24.3%. Designed for systems with an operational voltage of up to 1,500 V DC, the module offers an open-circuit voltage (Voc) of up to 41 V and a short-circuit current (Isc) of up to 14.84 A.
The company says its low temperature coefficient of power (Pmax) at -0.26%/°C, combined with the front-side gridline-free ABC cell structure, gives it a performance advantage over conventional TOPCon modules, translating into greater energy yield under high-temperature conditions.
Application
Laminated with 2 mm-thick glass on both the front and rear sides, and measuring 1,762 × 1,134 × 30 mm (under 2 m²) with a weight of only 24.2 kg, AIKO says this module is well-suited for Europe’s distributed generation (DG) PV market. Its black anodized aluminum frame and a front-side gridline-free ABC cell layout give it a high aesthetic appeal, suiting the preferences of the European residential solar segment.
Safety
Designed to endure extreme weather conditions common in Europe, the module is certified to withstand mechanical loads of up to 5,400 Pa on the front side and 2,400 Pa on the rear side. To further enhance durability, AIKO has tested the module against hail impact, using hailstones up to 23 mm in diameter traveling at 23 m/s.
The product comes with a standard 15-year warranty, extendable to 25 years upon request. In addition, it includes a 30-year linear performance warranty, ensuring long-term reliability and consistent power output.
