JA Solar, a global leader in the PV industry, successfully hosted the “Radiant Future: Summit of Innovation in Nepal’s Solar Horizon” at the Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu. The summit brought together government officials, energy experts, financial institutions, and industry leaders from across South Asia to explore new frontiers for solar development in Nepal.
The event featured keynote speeches and panel discussions centered on three strategic themes: enhancing capital flow and investment mechanisms in solar PV, strengthening government-industry collaboration, and optimizing the performance and efficiency of PV projects across their full lifecycle.
Distinguished participants included Shri Nabin Raj Singh, Director General of the Department of Electricity Development under Nepal’s Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and Chandan Kumar Ghosh, former Director of System Operation at the Nepal Electricity Authority. Both highlighted the critical role of solar PV in Nepal’s energy transformation and emphasized the country’s openness to global cooperation and investment.
Shri Nabin Raj Singh noted Nepal’s ongoing efforts to accelerate its clean energy transition, highlighting solar PV as a key driver in achieving national energy security and climate goals. He also underscored the government’s intention to improve policy frameworks to attract global expertise and investment.
As Nepal and other South Asian countries confront long-standing challenges including power shortages, complex geographies, and limited grid infrastructure, the region’s rich solar resources present a transformative opportunity. JA Solar has played an active role in this landscape by delivering high-efficiency, weather-resilient PV modules well-suited to South Asia’s diverse environments.
“With Nepal pushing forward on its path to clean energy, JA Solar is proud to contribute through reliable products, localized support, and long-term collaboration,” said Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar. “We see great potential in South Asia and are committed to building sustainable value for the region.”
The summit marks a significant step in JA Solar’s continued efforts to support the region’s energy transition—fostering open dialogue, advancing technology adoption, and deepening strategic partnerships throughout South Asia.
