The US electricity distribution system frequently faces outages due to various factors, including grid capacity limitations and extreme weather events such as high winds and heat waves. To mitigate risks, like wildfires sparked by strong winds or AC grid overloads during heat waves, utilities often implement power shut-offs.
To address this challenge and help US households achieve energy independence, Nature’s Generator, a California-based renewable energy (RE) home integration product manufacturer, has launched the MyGrid 10K series domestic storage system. This versatile home storage solution is compatible with both solar and wind power, and can be charged via a standard 120 V outlet or a 208/240 V outlet at 60 Hz.
The 10 kW AC storage system supports up to 12 kW of solar capacity and a wind turbine, storing up to 10.49 kWh of energy in a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery with a lifecycle of up to 6,000 cycles, according to the company. It includes an automatic transfer switch (ATS) for seamless connection to the home electric panel. The company claims that this plug-and-play, whole-home system can even function as an independent grid.
Additionally, the system is scalable up to 140 kWh of home storage capacity with a continuous AC output of up to 20 kW, capable of meeting the daily energy demands of households consuming between 10 kWh and 40 kWh.
Lawrence Zhou, CEO of Nature’s Generator, stated, “Importantly, it’s affordable—the 10K whole-home system starts at just $5,999.99. It features long-lasting, thermally stable LiFePO4 battery technology. MyGrid 10K is plug-and-play, relocatable, compatible with existing solar installations, and perfect for both homeowners and tenants. Plus, it’s sleek, attractive, and designed with aesthetics in mind.”
