What is Sing Sing about?

Imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn't commit, John "Divine G" Whitfield (Domingo) finds purpose in the prison’s RTA program (Rehabilitation Through the Arts) — particularly by acting in a theatre group with the other prisoners. This includes the reluctant, closed-off Clarence "Divine Eye" Maclin. Inspired by the true story of an unlikely friendship, Sing Sing is ultimately about "finding hope and catharsis through creation, and the difficulties therein.

Sing Sing launched in U.S. theaters in July 2024. A24 then re-released it in theaters in January 2025.
