TMTPOST – CASBOT, a leading intelligent humanoid robotics company and a partner of Nvidia's "Inception Program," has completed its angel round financing, raising more than 100 million yuan (US$ 14 million).
Investors in the round include Lenovo Capital, SDIC Unity Capital, Henan Asset Fund, among others.
The company said that the new funding will primarily be allocated to accelerate the mass production of its humanoid robots and further develop its core technologies. This strategic move will help CASBOT strengthen its market competitiveness and continue its focus on technological innovation.
Founded in 2023, CASBOT, the brand name of Beijing Zhongke Huiling Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., specializes in the development of general-purpose humanoid robots and intelligent embodied products designed for practical applications. The company’s R&D team boasts over two decades of expertise in areas such as intelligent robotics, precision assembly, visual servoing, and robotic skill learning.
In November 2024, CASBOT unveiled its flagship bipedal humanoid robot, the "CASBOT 01," nicknamed “Wednesday.” Designed as a general-purpose, brain-like intelligent robot, the CASBOT 01 comes equipped with 52 degrees of freedom, a processing power of 550 teraflops (T), and a battery life of over 4 hours.
With full-stack technological support, from "cerebrum to cerebellum to body to biomimetic dexterous hands," the CASBOT 01 offers integrated control of its body and adept capabilities. This allows the robot to conduct high-performance, long-sequence operations, making it suitable for a wide range of applications in industrial manufacturing, commercial services, and residential environments.
CASBOT’s commercialization team has confirmed that deliveries of the CASBOT 01 robot have already begun, with mass production and more deliveries set to commence in 2025. In addition to this, the company plans to introduce new models, including both bipedal and wheeled humanoid robots, as well as a new generation of dexterous hands.
These innovations are expected to drive iterative upgrades in embodied brain-like intelligence, making the robots lighter, stronger, and more efficient. With improved adaptability for multi-scenario, multi-task, and long-sequence operations, CASBOT aims to push the boundaries of humanoid robot applications and speed up the commercialization.
Investors have expressed strong confidence in CASBOT’s potential. SDIC Unity Capital highlighted the company’s rapid and stable performance in multi-terrain walking and precise manipulation in complex operational environments. They praised the team for their technical expertise and swift R&D capabilities, along with their clear commercial pathway.
Henan Asset Fund echoed these sentiments, noting CASBOT’s solid technical foundation and impressive achievements in both hardware design and motion control, particularly with the launch of the CASBOT 01.
Gu Zhengbin, Senior Director at Lenovo Group and Managing Director of Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group, was also upbeat about CASBOT's progress.
He mentioned that CASBOT has already made significant strides in industrial and coal mining applications, showcasing a pragmatic approach to real-world problem-solving.
Lenovo Capital intends to provide comprehensive support through its CVC 2.0 initiative to help accelerate core technology upgrades and product applications, further advancing the industrialization of humanoid robots. Lenovo Capital currently manages a portfolio of approximately 20 billion yuan and has invested in over 270 startups.
With this strategic backing from heavyweight investors, CASBOT is poised for rapid expansion, continuing its mission to bring cutting-edge humanoid robots into diverse industries and everyday life.
