TOPCon technology represents the second-highest power rating. However, there was no change with respect to top power in this technology stream in 2024. Trinasolar’s 700 W TOPCon module was the leader throughout the year. The story was a little different in 2023, with several ups and downs. EGing PV’s TOPCon module was at the top at the beginning of 2023 with a 685 W power rating and retained its lead till June 2023. In July, as EGing PV reduced its module power to 580 W, the modules with the next highest rated power, the 625 W modules from Runergy and Suntech in this case, took the shared top spot. In August 2023, DAS Solar and JA Solar surpassed this by introducing modules with 630 W power, holding the top spot just for that month. In September, Trinasolar commercialized its TOPCon module with a power rating of 700 W, setting a new record for the technology. This 700 W power rating has remained the highest in the TOPCon category through December 2024.While PERC comes 3rd in power, there was no major change for its top power throughout the last 2 years. A 675 W module from Canadian Solar has been leading the PERC stream in the power segment since the beginning of 2023. In the month of April, Risen also commercialized a PERC product with the same power rating, thus listing alongside Canadian Solar for the rest of 2023 and throughout 2024.IBC, albeit an efficiency leader, stood last in power comparison. The top power of this technology changed only once during 2024 but by the same company. AIKO has also been the leader of the IBC power league with a 620 W product. Its record efficiency module included in May also brought an improvement in power, rated at 655 W. It was placed directly at the top among IBC modules and retained its lead till the end of the year. However, at the beginning of 2023, it was LONGi that had the lead with its 590 W top efficiency product at the time. Then in March 2023, AIKO’s ABC module series, featuring an even higher power of 610 W, took the title and improved the top power again to 620 W in June, which it retained till the end of 2023.The TaiyangNews TOP SOLAR MODULES 2024 Report summarizes the key findings from over 24 editions published during 2023 and 2024.
