Three years ago, Bingrui Yang founded Pebble to bring electrification, automation, and the usability of an iPhone to the RV world. The public got its first glimpse Monday at CES 2025 of what that looks like: a production-ready all-electric travel trailer loaded with tech designed to make towing and camping stress free.
The 25-foot all-electric RV, known as Pebble Flow, starts at $109,500 and will be built at the startup’s new factory in Fremont, California. For that price, customers get an electric travel trailer that sleeps up to four people and comes standard with a 45 kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery, 1 kW of rooftop solar, AC and DC charging capability, and regenerative charging that sends electrons back into the battery while it’s being towed. Pebble launched Monday a configurator for future customers to customize their RV and look at options, specs, and pricing. Orders require a $500 refundable deposit.
Pebble is also offering two other versions, a founders edition of the Pebble Flow, which will come loaded with all options and upgrades, plus the opportunity to select a limited-edition color, at a price of $175,000. There is also an upgraded $135,000 version that adds several features, such as a dual-motor drivetrain called the “magic pack,” which propels the travel trailer while it’s being towed. This allows for the EV that is towing the travel trailer to preserve its own range. It can also help boost the fuel economy of a gas-powered vehicle.
This active propulsion system also allows the Pebble to be self-propelled. The company paired this capability with sensors and Nvidia’s Drive Orin, which handles the computing power for perception planning, and control, to offer several automated features designed to make towing and setting up the trailer easier.
Perhaps the most notable is a remote control hitch feature, which can be operated via the app. A user taps the app and then remotely moves the trailer into place.
All of this is designed to achieve Yang’s primary vision: To make towing and camping in a travel trailer easy.
“Any beginner that has never used an RV before can take a Pebble Flow and easily figure out how to have a good time with their family,” Yang said in a video released at CES 2025. “We want to build a world where home can be anywhere you want to take it.”
At a glance, the production-intent Pebble Flow looks similar to the prototype revealed in October 2023. However, there are some notable changes. The kitchen cabinets have been redesigned to flip up rather than down, the entry door is now higher, and side and rear windows have been added. Designers gave the production version a more aerodynamic shape and added a moon roof over the dining area. The caster wheel was also re-engineered, making it more durable and adding in an auto-level feature to increase ground clearance. Four cameras have been added to support the automated features.
Many of the changes were made after receiving feedback from 3,000 members of its so-called Pebble community, which included pre-order customers, RV and camping enthusiasts and notably, “digital nomads.” That subgroup, while niche, is core to Yang’s vision for the Pebble Flow.
The startup, which has raised $55 million from venture firms such as Lightspeed, Vision+, and UpHonest Capital, said production will begin early this year. First deliveries are expected in spring 2025.
