500 MW capacity online: US utility Ameren Missouri has commissioned 3 solar PV facilities with a combined 500 MW capacity in Missouri. These are 200 MW Huck Finn Renewable Energy Center, 150 MW Boomtown Renewable Energy Center, and 150 MW Cass County Renewable Energy Center. These projects represent close to $950 million in investments. Both the Cass County and Boomtown facilities will serve the utility’s Renewable Solutions program that encourages organizations from across the state to increase their use of renewable energy.Qcells closes DOE loan: The US Department of Energy (DOE) has closed the $1.45 billion loan to support Qcells in the completion of its Cartersville, Georgia located vertically integrated manufacturing facility. This facility is planned to produce ingots, wafers, cells, and finished panels at multi-GW scale, expanding the company’s Georgia production capacity to 8.4 GW. This is enough to roll out around 46,000 panels/day. The DOE’s Loan Programs Office (LPO) announced the conditional commitment for this project in August 2024 (see Qcells Bags $1.45 Billion US Loan For Georgia Manufacturing Facility).$200 million for PosiGen: Brookfield Asset Management has provided an additional $200 million to support the growth of the US renewable energy company PosiGen, PBC. Since 2023, Brookfield has already supported PosiGen’s rooftop solar deployment with $600 million. The latest funding round will back the company’s new projects, including origination driven by both its direct sales engine and those coming through its channel partner platform, according to the company.   Atlantica expands footprint in the US: Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure has completed the acquisition of a development platform with around 1.1 GW of solar and wind projects in development pipeline in the US. These facilities are located in the MISO and SPP regions. It says this platform complements Atlantica’s own development portfolio that is located mostly in the CAISO and MISO regions. Now its US development portfolio comprises approximately 2 GW of solar and wind projects and 8.5 GWh of storage.
