How to Use TealHQ
Here's how I used TealHQ to set career goals and generate a resume for me with AI:

Step 1: Create a TealHQ Account
I started by going to tealhq.com and selecting “Sign Up.”
Step 2: Specify Your Career Goals
After making an account (you can make one using your LinkedIn profile, Google account, or email), I was taken to my TealHQ dashboard! Right off the bat, I loved how clean and organized the interface was.
The first thing I'd recommend you do after signing up is set your career goals. This can be done by selecting “Edit Goals” on the top left next to “Next Career Goal: Land a new job.”
Selecting “Edit Goals” opens a new window to specify your next career goal, target title, target date, minimum and maximum salary, and currency. It only takes a minute to fill out!
Step 3: Create a Resume
Next, you're going to want to create a resume with TealHQ's resume builder.
To create a resume with TealHQ, select “Create Resume” under “Getting Started” on the right or select “Resume Builder” from the left.
Step 4: Import Your Career History
TealHQ will give you three options for how you can import your career history to build your resume:
- Resume fileLinkedIn URLPaste history
Choose whichever method makes the most sense for you. My LinkedIn profile is filled out and accurate so I pasted my LinkedIn URL and hit “Upload.”
TealHQ created my resume in seconds! They did an excellent job formatting my resume onto a single page which I could preview on the right.
If there was anything I wanted to edit on my resume, I could do so by opening any of the tabs on the left. I really love how organized everything is, making the resume process easy and stress-free.
Step 5: View Your Resume Analysis
The analysis tab was also really helpful. It gave me a score on my resume structure, measurable results, and keyword usage helping me identify areas for improvement to optimize my resume.
Step 6: Match Your Resume with a Job
The “Job Matching” tab was where I could get specific about the job I was after. Here, I could attach a job description to my resume and get a match score with additional keywords to include on my resume for a better chance at landing that specific job.
To start using TealHQ's job matcher, I selected “Job Matching” and “Create a New Job.”
Step 7: Install the Teal Chrome Extension
Next, I was asked to add the job posting I was interested in. I could fill this out manually or (better yet) install the Teal Chrome extension.
Step 8: Save a Job with the Teal Chrome Extension
I tried the Teal Chrome extension and found it incredibly easy to use.
Wherever I was looking for jobs (e.g. Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.) the TealHQ logo would appear in the bottom right corner. Clicking it opened a window that gave me the name of the company and position, compensation, my excitement level, the stage I was in, and the skills required for the job.
This overview broke down everything really nicely, highlighting only the most important aspects of the job I was potentially interested in. I also loved that I could rate my excitement level, making it easy for me to know which jobs to prioritize!
I found a job I was interested in and hit “Save Job.”
Step 9: Select the Job in TealHQ
Back in the Job Matching tab, I clicked in the search bar and the job I just added with the Chrome extension was there! I selected it and hit “Get Started.”
Step 10: Get Your Keyword Match Score
Teal HQ gave me a keyword “Match Score” based on the keywords I used in my resume and the job description. It offered some suggestions for keywords I should use to improve my resume and strengthen my chances of landing this job!
Step 11: Design Your Resume
The “Design” tab featured different options for me to style my resume. I could manually change the font, colors, and layout, or I could select “Add Template” to change my resume template!
I looked through some of the templates available on TealHQ, and they're all modern and professional.
Step 12: Generate a Cover Letter with AI
The “Cover Letter” tab allowed me to write a cover letter with AI for the job I was going for!
All I had to do was hit “Write with AI.” This allowed me to choose the length (short, medium, or long), tone (formal, casual, or one that matches the job description), a job description, and a custom prompt to generate a cover letter.
Once I was happy with my selections, I hit “Apply” and TealHQ immediately generated my cover letter!
Step 13: Edit Your Cover Letter
The cover letter only took a few seconds to generate.
Overall, I was impressed with what TealHQ generated! It acted as a good starting point for an effective cover letter personally directed to the company and job position.
I could easily edit my cover letter by clicking on the text and making changes, or I could select the “Improve with AI” button to edit it automatically for me.
